2024 Paris Olympics: Event Schedule and Highlights
The 2024 Paris Olympics have officially kicked off with an impressive Opening Ceremony, and the competitions are now in full swing. On Saturday, the spotlight will be on Katie Ledecky and the Women's Swimming team as they dive into the pool at 5 a.m. ET on USA Network. Ledecky is on a historic quest for her eighth Olympic gold medal, aiming to tie Jenny Thompson's record for the most gold medals by an American woman in Summer Olympics history. The Women's Swimming team is also striving for a milestone 100th all-time gold medal.
The Olympic events began on July 24 with soccer and rugby. Marko Mitrovic and the U.S. Men's Soccer team faced a tough loss, 3-0, against France on Wednesday, while the Women's Soccer team triumphed with a 3-0 victory over Zambia on Thursday. The U.S. Men's Rugby team, after losing to Australia 18-0 in the quarterfinals on Thursday, will compete for fifth place against Ireland on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock.
